Red hair is making a comeback for 2018 and I’m excited.
I had red hair for years and loved it. I regularly changed the style and tone from vibrant copper to darker violet tones when i felt like a change. When it’s freshly done it’s so glossy and perfect but it does require a fair bit of up keep. It can lose it’a vibrance after just one wash.
There are so many stunning make up looks for red hair but i have a favourite!!!
I absolutely love the contrast of green eye make up against the red. It sounds like a total clash but it works really well with maximum effect.
1. Start by applying an eye shadow primer to the eye area. Benefit Stay Don’t Stray is a favourite of mine as it lasts for ages due to its sure top.
2. Apply a peachy tone to the brow bone with a soft brush and blend out to create a soft hue. That soft peach beside the green will soften and warm the look. This simple step can prevent this looking too bold or harsh.
3. Using a blending brush apply bright green shadow to the crease of the eyes, inner and outside corners. This will leave the centre of the eyelid free of colour at this point. The Urban Decay Heavy Metals palette would work really well for this look.
4. For the centre of the lid try using a champagne, silver or pale green shadow. Take a flat firm brush and pat it on to the area. This will break up the vibrant green to give more balance.
5. Depending on the shape of your eyes, either continue all around the eyes with the green shadow, or stick to a black liquid liner along the top.
6 As usual apply lashings of mascara for a polished look.
If green isn’t your thing then try using bright blue or purple. The Urban Decay palette will give you lots of options.
